does anyone know if this recipe would work for making gingerbread houses?

Catch 'em if you can…
Remember how cheated you felt when the Gingerbread Man got eaten at the end of the fairytale?
You didn't think anyone would be able to catch him with those long, athletic legs of ginger. Run, Gingerbread Man! Run like the wind! Man, he put up a damn good fight.
Well, it's time to see if he has the guts to run from your oven. Your mission: Eat the Gingerbread Man. Maybe even two of him ... or three ... or maybe just one. Remember what we said about portion control.
What To Get
What To Do
Sift flour, baking soda, salt and spices together. Place margarine and sugar in a large bowl. Mix well until smooth. Add molasses, rice syrup, and Ener-G. Mix well. Add flour mixture. Mix well. Take dough out of bowl and shape it into a large disk. Wrap in plastic wrap. Chill overnight.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a cookie sheet. Roll out dough to 1/8″ thickness. Cut cookies out. Place cookies on the cookie sheet. Bake for 12-14 minutes. Cool on sheet for several minutes than transfer to wire rack. When cooled, draw a lil' gingerbread man face and some buttons with icing on each cookie.
*Note: If you can’t wait until the next day, chill at least an hour or more. Can also be baked in a pan, in one piece.
Enjoy!

Yeah, it should - So instead of making men, roll the dough out in sheets to make walls. Let us know how it turns out!
Thank you! I am definately going to try and give it a go. I've been looking online for a vegan royal icing recipe but can't seem to find one that will not only work as a cement for my houses but also sounds edible... Has anyone tried this before? Would love to hear your recipe!!!
Fabulous recipe; I love using brown rice syrup and egg replacement in my cookie recipes...Gingerbread is such a wonderful cookie for the holiday season...very festive and love the 'gingery' flavor. Thank you for sharing!
