What do YOU do??

Hey! So I would like to know what everyone does to keep fit. Is there a certain dvd or online workout you like? Do you go to the gym or walk? Anything you have had good results with and want to share??

I will go first. I have two kids, one is 3 months old so I am trying to get fitagain. So I started off with Jillian Michaels 30 day shred, I like it a lot, definitely kicked my ass lol. I only did it for 15 days though. I got a little bored. I lost 8lbs and 7in though. Then I found a blog that has free workouts and they are different each time and like 15-30min. It is on bodyrock.tv and I have been doing that for about 3 weeks. I have lost 12lbs so far and 17in. I really like it, she is really fit and she doesn't do any additional workouts besides what she posts on her blog. It definitely helps motivate me, and I really have never been one to enjoy exercise lol.

I do a lot of yoga.  I was doing podcasts from the YogaJournal website mainly.  Jason Crandell is the best!  I got a DVD that YJ put out called Yoga For Well-Being and I love it.  Lately now that the weather is getting cooler (being that it's finally down in the 80s--I'm in Florida) my boyfriend and I have been going on walks after dinner as well.

I was realizing actually that a year ago I was size 11-12.  I bought a pair of shorts that were a 3 yesterday.  I've easily lost 30 pounds and most of that was from making the switch back to a vegan diet.  I have no idea why I stopped, and am still kicking myself for it, but oh well!

In short, yoga and being vegan keep me small. :)

I found that making losing weight the goal wasn't working, because I'd always find a nice friend who would convince me my body was perfect the way it was and I should embrace my curves, or something else that was intended to make me feel good but really just perpetuated my unhealthy life. So when I decided to do something else, something bigger than "I'm going to lose weight now", I picked something that had the side-effect of weight loss. I joined a half marathon, and even though my time was not very good, I did run the entire thing, and during the 6 months of training for it combined with a healthy diet, I was able to lose 42 pounds. I haven't gained any of it back in the past year, and I only run a few times a week now. I go to yoga also, but for balance and a sense of well-being, and am finding the side effect of this to be more weight loss and body toning. Find a goal bigger than something superficial, and it will mean more and motivate you more, and when you're friend tries to boost your self-esteem with the "I swear, you do not look fat in those jeans" pep talk, just tell her, "I know, but I want to finish the race, and afterward, I'll probably have to get smaller jeans." At least this perspective worked for me. Hope this helps!

I do Ballet. I have a DVD called "Ballet Conditioning" that I do pretty much every day. That and plenty of walks, with my dog, or just by myself. I am looking to join a gym or a yoga studio sometime in the new year. Basically: Just do whatever you think you can, and then build up slowly. After a while, you'll be amazed at how much exercise you are actually doing.

ust go for a walk until you begin to feel tired. Note the time it took you. Tomorrow, or even the day after tomorrow, go for another walk and walk for a bit longer. Just add a minute or two to each walk. In this way, slowly increase your duration until you are able to walk for 60 minutes.

I mostly do pilates and lift weights I love strength training. I also walk EVERYWHERE and do a mixed workout from a holistic nutritionist twice a week. I do pilates-based abdominal workouts everyday, but the rest vary, although I usually include some form of pilates into my daily lifestyle. I made a weekly workout plan for myself that lists different workouts for each day of the week and have been sticking to it. Once you get started, I think it's kind of addicting!

I love how diverse everyone's workouts are!

I do 30 minutes on the elyptical in the fitness center at our apartment complex 4 times a week and I play tennis for an hour each Sunday at the local rec center. Initially it was rough getting through my workouts but I found the perfect Pandora Radio Station to keep me motivated and eventually it just became habit and a part of my regular schedule. It's all about finding you're thing - just like that Kiaser commercial!
